How Dare You...

Description

"How dare you, dogs?
How dare you paint the snow
with my father's noble blood?"

We last left off with this  image "Your Heart Will Lead You Home" that displayed Akane's longing to see her adoptive father, Bougo again after many moons of being separated from him. In addition, rumors of a red-caped bear roaming around the mountains of Ohu was beginning to make their way to her, causing her to fill with both eagerness and worry. She made journey towards the mountains, accompanied by repeating dreams of her father fighting a war with dogs (possibly put in her mind from the stories of her "grandfather," Akakabuto that she was told while growing up, and the fear of her father meeting the same fate.) The dreams were at first attempted to be shaken off as nightmares reflecting her fear, but Akane began to realize soon that they may be a sign of something much larger. Word was spreading that the Ohu leaders were searching for this red-caped bear along with troops of dogs, knowing full well that it could only be a surviving relative of the "demon bear" they and their ancestors had faced years before. And, like his father, Bougo had to be destroyed at all costs.
I am not really going to go that far into detail about Akane's journey to find Bougo, but let's just say that she eventually discovered Bougo. And, amazingly enough, she had come right on time: to the horror of seeing her father laying in the snow, soaking the snow around him with blood while a large [and growing] group of Ohu soldiers tore away at him. Bougo, in his old age, had been growing tired from the many hours of battle and was beginning to give in to the dog's wishes of giving himself to death.

The scene reflects Akane's rage as she rushes into the scene. I imagined her releasing a loud, bear-roar like growl towards the dogs as she attempts to chase them away from Bougo. She would of coarse not succeed in fighting away all of these dogs, but I imagine this strange white beast coming out of no where making bear-noises would at least startle the dogs enough for them to back off for a while. After all, what dog in their right mind would try to defend a bear? They are nothing but mindless, slobbery demons, are they not?
But Akane was raised by the powerful but kind paws of this bear, and was soothed with the strong but wise words of this creature. In her eyes, it is these dogs who are the mindless demons as they paint the snow with his blood as if it is some sort of proud victory to destroy his life.

This image was originally just going to be a crappy doodle, but I was so happy with how Akane's pose came out and the idea of this image itself had been stuck in my mind for a couple weeks. I am not sure the snow is as well done as I hoped it would turn out to be, but I think it at least looks decent enough to the point it can be assumed to be snow. XD
And swirly blizzard added for dramatic affect. So original :la:

I may draw what happens next, soon enough. I actually don't have a scene for it yet lol but I have some ideas.

Want to help determine what happens next? If you want to have an RP with me based off of this scene/character(s) then send me a note!

“They are nothing but mindless slobbering demons are they not?”

And that in a nutshell is why I really, REALLY dislike the mange/show. That is exactly how it portrayed bears. Not just one bear or some bears but ALL bears. Really f***ing makes my blood boil.

Still this is awesome. Wish I would just hug poor Bougo and make him all better. Poor baby didn’t deserve that. 😭
